Skills & Strategies for Difficult Conversations

What frameworks and tools can support us to connect with others on challenging topics like systems of oppression? We will focus on: *Noticing physiological signs of nervous system activation, the overlap with expressions of privilege-related fragility, and grounding skills to support regulation *Understanding default vs intentional practices to strengthen capacity, skill, and presence in interpersonal connection *Utilizing the Spectrum of Allies framework to apply interventions strategically

Understanding Identity, Privilege & Colonization

We will integrate writing, art and group discussion to explore the ways that colonization and other systems of oppression operate in all of our lives and to more deeply relate to both the privileged and marginalized aspects of our identities. How do we learn to turn with curiosity towards the discomfort and build awareness of the costs of maintaining the system as it is in order to rehumanize and reclaim our complex wholeness and support our commitments to interrupting systems of oppression?
