Gabriel created the Vulnerable Rally as a social experiment—blending street theatre, shadow work, community building, & social/political commentary. His blindedfolded contact practice emerged from a desire to connect to source, find freedom from judgment, & increase sensitivity. He’s interested in the intersection between high ideals (non attachment, altruism), fear (shame, rejection, death), art, sensuality & play. He's is a filmmaker by trade.
Blindfolded Contact Dance is a safe & gentle experience—great for both beginners & experienced dancers alike. Wearing blindfolds allows dancers to drop the fear & self-judgment that often inhibits spontaneous movement & authentic connection to self & others. These workshops take participants on a journey of somatic self-discovery & non-verbal consent via solo & group exercises before culminating in a freeform blindfolded jam. No late arrivals.
In dance we are often encouraged to "have no agenda," but what would it be like to purposefully dance with agenda? Participants will randomly pick a challenge from a variety of prompts—ranging from funny/playful to emotional/interpersonal—each one designed to disrupt patterns of movement & engagement on the dance floor. Discover what alchemy arises when seemingly conflicting agendas interweave into comic mishaps & soulful healings. Please be on time for this unforgettable dance adventure.
